Lack of Cloud Computing Skills May Hamper Adoption

New research suggests that some good things are in store for the majority of IT departments in the coming year, and IT spending is expected to rise sharply. There has also been some troubling news, however, concerning the growth of the cloud and a resulting cloud computing skills gap that could seriously hamper the success that businesses hope to find in this exploding technology.
Cloud Growth May Outpace Cloud Skill Set
ScienceLogic, a provider of IT monitoring software, recently conducted a survey of 1,000 IT professionals, asking them questions about their IT budgets and predictions for the coming year. The survey found that IT spending is expected to increase by a net margin of 35 percent compared to 2013 spending, according to the company's press release.
Overall, the ratio of respondents expecting to see an increase in IT spending versus those who expect a contraction is 4:1, and almost two-thirds of respondents plan on increasing their budgetary spending by between 6 and 20 percent. Most businesses plan to spend the most on network infrastructure although there will also be an increase in the need for storage, big data and mobility infrastructure.  You may read complete story here
